Aurora City Council Approves Budget - Includes Funding for Lowry
On October 5, the Aurora City Council met for a budget meeting which included approval of $100,000 for landscaping at CCA's Lowry campus. This money will be used to help improve landscaping along 6th Avenue and Lowry Boulevard.

Law Firm BakerHostetler Announces "First Generation" Scholarship Collaboration with Community College of Aurora Foundation and Aurora Public Schools
BakerHostetler, a national law firm with an office in Denver, has joined with the Community College of Aurora Foundation to offer a $2,500 per semester scholarship for qualifying Aurora Public Schools (APS) graduates.
The BakerHostetler/APS Superintendent's Merit Scholars Award was established with a $25,000 grant from BakerHostetler and is intended for high performing students who are first in their families to attend college. This five-year commitment supports qualifying Aurora Public Schools graduates to attend the Community College of Aurora (CCA) for two years, with the hope of then transferring to Metropolitan State University of Denver to complete their studies.
Community College of Aurora Foundation announces pending departure of executive director
AURORA, COLO.– Community College of Aurora Foundation Board President Mike Quirk has announced that Diana L. Whye, executive director for the CCA Foundation, will step down from her position effective December 31, 2013. A national search will begin immediately for a permanent replacement for Whye, and an appointment is expected to be made by January 2014.
