COGNOS Support

COGNOS is the report writer the Community College of Colorado System is using to access data in the Banner database.  Data are extracted from Banner on a daily basis and kept in the Data Warehouse.  COGNOS generates reports on the data in the Data Warehouse.  As a consequence, COGNOS reports will not reflect changes made to Banner database until the next day—once a data warehouse snapshot is made, the data are not changed until another snapshot is made the next day.

Faculty have access to two reports in the [Public Folders] > [The Faculty] folder.  Use the Logon Cribsheet to access these reports. 

The Office of Institutional Research will conduct periodic workshops helping users access and use COGNOS.  Check the Professional Development schedule for the next workshop.

Chairs, Directors, and the Deans’ Admins have access to other COGNOS reports.  If you need more information, talk to them about available reports.
