Position Title: Assistant Coordinator – Arapahoe County
TANF & Program
Reports To: Director
Position Status: Full-time, Exempt Professional/Technical
Basic Functions: Under the direction of the Program Director, the Assistant Coordinator assists
in the project management of the Arapahoe County TANF program including: staff and faculty supervisor, client
assessment, case management and project report creation and maintenance.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and provide initial approval for tuition reimbursement equaling approximately
$200,000
- Coordinate and monitor Arapahoe County TANF case load to exceed contract
expectations to earn incentives totaling $40,000
- Approve and administer support
services up to $7,000
- Provide supervision and guidance for two (2) full time
employees
- Provide support and assistance to ten (10) instructors
- Practices and enforces compliance with federal, state, and county welfare legislation
and city and county contracts.
- Supervises case management staff positions.
- Coordinates case management team and regular reporting requirements.
- Coordinates with other program departments.
- Participates in
selection and hiring of new department staff.
- Provides training for case managers.
- Perform weekly case audits; prepare report to include areas of development and/or
highlight areas of efficiency.
- Supervise and design the implementation of Job
Workshops.
- Directs use and utilizes computerized data systems for case management.
- Leads trouble-shooting and communication related to case management requirements and
services.
- Attends county meetings and contract meetings.

Stays abreast of advances and changes in county policies and procedures.
- Maintains
moderate caseload, provides services and referrals.
- Tracks and reports attendance
and compliance of participants.
- Attends all staff meetings, and program supervisor
meetings.
- Facilitates case management team meetings.

Develops and maintains partnerships with private, public, and non-profit sectors. Represents CCA to
employers, funders, community-based organizations, and workforce development partners.
- Contribute to the Community College of Aurora’s strategic goals. Collaborate with other
college departments.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related field.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
- Experience working in a social services, case management, counseling, or related field.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Programs as well as the ability to transfer knowledge to
existing program database.
Preferred Qualifications
- Availability to work some
evenings and Saturdays.
- Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish and English
- Preferred experience working within a county social services system or familiarity
within a related industry of human services.
- Familiarity with community resources.
- Knowledge of case management practices such as client assessment, client
counseling, barrier assessment, and career development.
- Experience working in
marketing or sales for social services or related industry.
- Experience in a
management or leadership position.
CONTRACT SPECIFICS & SALARY RANGE:
Professional/Technical position. Salary is commensurate with education and
experience and in accordance with the 2008-2009 Administrative Salary Schedule. Salary range is mid $ 30 s to
low $ 40 s per year. CCA offers a competitive fringe benefit program including retirement, health, dental and
