Full-Time, 12-Month Regular Faculty – Center for Art, Media and Technology

POSITION TITLE:      Director/Faculty, Center for Art, Media and Technology

REPORTS TO:             Dean of Liberal Arts

SUPERVISES:              Regular and Adjunct Faculty

The Position: This position has responsibilities typical of both a faculty member as well as a program director.  The director/faculty member teaches multimedia and electronic arts courses and leads the growth and development of the college’s new Center for Art, Media and Technology.  This would include: recruitment and management of faculty and students; developing and maintaining new programs, degrees, certificates, and articulation agreements; and service to the college through committee involvement, professional development, assessment, and budgeting.  The successful candidate possesses a high level of skill and experiences in digital art and design and recognizes the importance of the fine and visual arts to students’ development.  The successful candidate builds and maintains relationships in the community which promote job opportunities for students and works with other colleges to promote degree transfer.   

Required Qualifications:

§          Degree in a field related to visual arts, art history/appreciation, multimedia, graphic design, web development, or related areas of software development

§          Demonstrable skill in digital technologies related to art and design

§          Demonstrated skills in management and leadership

§          Experience in art and media design and development

Preferred Qualifications:

§          Supervisory experience

§          Terminal degree in field related to visual arts, art history/appreciation, multimedia, graphic design, web development, or related areas of software development

§          Experience with curriculum development and program development/management

§          Teaching experience at the college level

§          Budget management experience

Contract Specifics & Salary Range: Regular 12-month faculty contract with reduced teaching load for director’s duties.  Salary is commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the 2008-2009 Administrative Salary Schedule.  Salary range is mid $40s to low $60s per year.  CCA offers a competitive fringe benefit program including health, dental and life insurance.  Leave benefits and holidays are also included.  For information on benefits associated with this position, visit http://www.cccs.edu/HR/Admin.html.  

Anticipated Start Date:  The successful candidate will begin work on July 2008.
