POSITION TITLE: Regular Faculty – Developmental Math

REPORTS TO: Chair of Developmental Studies
The Position: The Community College of Aurora is seeking an energetic, innovative developmental mathematics educator to maximize student success and accelerate students’ progress toward college-level math proficiency. This faculty member will teach developmental math and play an important leadership role as a member of the new Academic Enrichment Department. The ideal candidate will have experience with developmental education and work well with a diverse student body, develop curricula, use current teaching and learning techniques, and function well in a creative, collaborative environment.
In order to perform the essential functions of this position, the individual must possess the ability to effectively communicate, concentrate, pay attention to detail, instruct/teach and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Innovative qualities will be extremely valuable.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Math or related field
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field, or Master’s degree in Education

Endorsement or licensure in mathematics education

Experience teaching secondary or post-secondary mathematics

Experience working with a diverse student body

Contract Specifics & Salary Range: This is a 9-month faculty contract. Salary is commensurate with education and experience and in accordance with the 2008-2009 Administrative Salary Schedule. Starting salary range is $40’s to low $50’s per year. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan. Leave and holiday benefits are also included.
