POSITION TITLE: Education Resource Center Coordinator and Professional Development
Projects Specialist
REPORTS TO: Department Chair of Education
SUPERVISES: May be assigned supervisory responsibilities
The Center: The Center is a collaborative project of the Arapahoe County Early Childhood Council (ACECC) and Community College of Aurora and will be located at the CentreTech Campus of the Community College of Aurora. The Center serves to coordinate Early Childhood Education (ECE) professional development opportunities, resource sharing and networking within the college and the community.
Basic Function: The Coordinator/Specialist will coordinate the multiple functions of the Education Resource Center serving ECE and other education professionals in Arapahoe County, Colorado and students at the Community College of Aurora. This includes the management of professional development projects and training opportunities for ECE professionals.
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a collection of ECE resources and materials for community and college use; maintain and distribute an interagency professional development calendar; and develop the PD work plan and budget for the whole county. Also, draft policy and procedures for the PD committee; develop the guidelines for workshop training and training of trainers; build training opportunities, including marketing and registration; provide up-to-date information of ECE community resources and methods of access; manage professional development projects including Expanding Quality for Infants and Toddlers and Touchpoints; and professional components of the School Readiness Project. This includes supervising and organizing the trainers. Collect data and complete the quarterly reports for each project (EQ, Touchpoints, Ounce, Forum and approx. 10 additional trainings); oversee the team contracts and help to evaluate whether the contractors met the specific outcomes; coordinate the scholarship program and issues and manages the Council’s training RFP’s (Request for Proposal), using the ACECC database for outreach to the ECE profession.

Contract Specifics & Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with education and experience and in accordance with the 2007-2008 Administrative Salary Schedule. Beginning salary is mid $30s to mid/high $40s per year. CCA offers a competitive fringe benefit program including health, dental, vision and life insurance.
