Tests: there will be two tests covering the material and readings.  You will be responsible for all the readings assigned, even if they are not covered in class discussions.  The tests will be short answer and essay format.

Paper:  Write a ten –twenty page paper on a relevant topic of your choice.  Topic should be discussed with instructor for approval.  The paper will be presented to the class (see below)

Annotated bibliography:  You will be asked to select five readings from the class list and prepare annotations.  The annotations will be collected onto a single document for the whole class.

Presentation: choose a topic of interest in the teaching of developmental education and prepare a presentation.  The format of the presentation should be as a conference presentation, an interactive experience, or as a “lecture.”   The presentation should last about 20 minutes, and be accompanied by a paper which has the details and references.

Participation:  Class and online participation is mandatory.  All students will be responsible for reading weekly assignments and preparing one report which will be presented to the class.
