The Community College of Aurora is committed to an international education. Home to CCA, the city of Aurora is a diverse community, which the college celebrates. We strive to connect to our diverse student body and community by bringing community partners to campus, inviting guest speakers, encouraging local partnership in education, and providing training opportunities beyond the city of Aurora. Some of our upcoming projects are as follows:
Traveling Scholars
Dr. Amy Rell, Chair of Arts, Humanities, and World Languages, has been selected to participate in the 2009 Fulbright-Hays Summer Seminar: History and Culture in China. This prestigious program, which has 16 participants from around the country, will include lectures and seminars from Chinese experts and visits to modern, historic, and culturally significant cities in China. Dr. Rell will develop curricular projects upon her return from China. The Global Initiatives committee wishes to congratulate Dr. Rell on this amazing honor! Elizabeth Hirsh and Sheridan Samano are taking students to Costa Rica as part of either ANT 275 or BIO 275.
Nancy Jackson will host a workshop on her recent trip to Bhutan.

Global Citizens Student Conference
The Global Citizens Student Conference (Wednesday, November 18) will be the first annual conference, hosted by the Global Initiatives Committee and Student Life. This conference will highlight student research on an annual global topic. This year’s topic is climate change. More information will be announced soon.
