Scholarship Application
2008-2009
The Community College of Aurora Foundation is a not-for-profit, 501 (c) (3) corporation that provides student funding and other resources for the development of the Community College of Aurora. This is put into practice by an outstanding volunteer Board of Directors and college staff.
The information collected on this application will be used to match applicants with individual scholarship eligibility criteria for CCA Foundation Scholarships. Recipients will be selected by members of a scholarship committee.
A list of the scholarships with the description and the eligibility for each of these scholarships can be found here, or can be obtained at the CCA Financial Aid Office or the CCA Foundation Office. Additional scholarships not currently listed here may become available at a later date.
The following steps are required to apply for these scholarships. The priority deadline for submitting a complete application packet is June 1, 2008 for fall semester or December 1, 2008 for spring semester.
- Complete the CCA Foundation application form (link
below). Be sure to answer all questions and compose a response to the the essay questions at the bottom of the application.
- All applicants must have completed the 2008-2009 Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for a CCA scholarship's requiring financial need. See the
Financial Aid Website for information on the FAFSA.
- Students who have prior postsecondary attendance must
submit a transcript from the institution most recently attended. (If you are currently attended or have attended CCA,
be sure to submit a transcript to Financial Aid). Students who have no previous attendance at a postsecondary institution must
submit a copy of a high school transcript or a copy of GED test scores and GED certificate.
- Provide two letters of reference. One letter must be from
a previous or current instructor, counselor/advisor or individual who can speak to your academic potential.
You can upload a digital copy or scan to the application on the next page (total of all three documents
must not exceed 10 mb).
- Current or previous recipients:
To apply for a scholarship, even the same scholarship, please complete the application with essay, but you
may exclude the letters of recommendation.
If you are still a recipient of an ongoing multiple-semester scholarship, you must resubmit the application each year, but may exclude the essay and letters of recommendation.
- All scholarships are dependent upon the availability of funding.
