The Center for Workforce Development is a bilingual job readiness program available to welfare recipients in Adams and Arapahoe County and low-income working families in Adams County. The purpose of the Center for Workforce Development is to assist families overcome employment barriers and gain financial stability through education, training and case management services. Two programs are available to achieve the objective of the program: Welfare-to-Work and CHOICES.
Welfare-to-Work (TANF Program)
Adams County Department of Social Services and Arapahoe County Human Services Department refer welfare recipients to the Center for Workforce Development. Recipients from both counties participate in academic programs, career counseling courses, and work experience programs to gain job training and experience needed to transition from welfare to employment. Support services are provided through individual case management services. A referral from the welfare programs from either Adams or Arapahoe County Participation is required to enroll in the Welfare-to-Work with the Center for Workforce Development.
CHOICES Program
The CHOICES Program is available for low-income working families living in Adams County. The program goal is to help families earn and save more money through employment and resources savings. Short term training programs and support services are available to eligible families. To participate in the CHOICES Program you must meet the following criteria:
- You must live in Adams County
- Have a dependent child
- You, or someone in your home, must have an income
- Household income is less then $75,000
- Have a Social Security Number
- You can not have received any TANF assistance in the last 12 months

- Early Childhood Education
- Nursing Pre-Requisites
- Medical Training and Certification
- Emergency Medical Services
- Business Management
- Information Technology
- Diesel Technology
- Construction and Landscaping
- Citizenship Preparation
- GED Preparation (English and Spanish)
- Non-Credit ESL
- CDL Licensing
