POSITION TITLE:    Adjunct (Part-time) Faculty – Accounting (in-classroom classes)

FLSA STATUS:  Exempt

REPORTS TO:          Department Chair
 
SUPERVISES:          No supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
 
THIS POSITION:     
The Community College of Aurora is a progressive, dynamic, culturally diverse institution experiencing rapid growth. CCA has a strong commitment to high quality education and student success. The Business Department is seeking faculty members interested in teaching upper level Accounting courses such as Auditing, Intermediate, Accounting Information Systems. This position will teach assigned classes in keeping with community college philosophy while upholding the values of the college, and abide by all relevant college and department policies and procedures. The faculty member will provide students with a syllabus for the course, provide course content on the college’s learning management system, attend departmental/divisional/instruction-wide meetings, and required faculty development activities such as New Faculty Orientation during the first year. In addition, the faculty member will evaluate student performance in accordance with student learning outcomes as stated in the course syllabus, maintain accurate records of attendance and grading of students and submit required records according to published deadlines as well as conduct student evaluations of instruction as required by the college.

 
Required Qualifications:    
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university in Accounting or Master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting.
  • Professional work experience in content area.
  • Teaching experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  •  CPA
Current Salary Rate:    $650.00 per credit hour plus additional pay for laboratory hours
