POSITION TITLE: Adjunct Instructor (Part-time) – Economics (in-classroom classes)
REPORTS TO: Department Chair
SUPERVISES: No supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
THE POSITION: The Community College of Aurora is a progressive, dynamic, culturally diverse institution experiencing rapid growth. CCA has a strong commitment to high quality education and student success. The Business Department is seeking faculty members interested in teaching Economics. This position will teach assigned classes in keeping with community college philosophy while upholding the values of the college, and abide by all relevant college and department policies and procedures. The faculty member will provide students with a syllabus for the course, provide course content on the college’s learning management system, attend departmental/divisional/instruction-wide meetings, and required faculty development activities such as New Faculty Orientation during the first year. In addition, the faculty member will evaluate student performance in accordance with student learning outcomes as stated in the course syllabus, maintain accurate records of attendance and grading of students and submit required records according to published deadlines as well as conduct student evaluations of instruction as required by the college.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university in Economics or Master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Economics.
- Professional work experience in business and content area.
- Teaching experience preferred.
Salary: $650.00 per credit hour
Anticipated Start Date: Ongoing
Note: Individual selected will need to be available to begin work immediately. Expenses related to the interview and relocation will be the responsibility of the individual hired.
