Position Title: Graphic Design and Digital Media Assistant

Located in the beautiful Rocky Mountain Region, the Community College of Aurora is looking for an individual who can play an important role in promoting the College as it continues to grow and develop new and exciting programs. Competitive candidates will be creative and energetic and demonstrate a passion for putting forth innovative ideas and utilizing new and up and coming marketing strategies while supporting the College Strategic Plan. The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines and pay close attention to detail while maintaining quality service and the integrity of the College. Note: This is an 80% appointment, working approximately 32 hours per week. This position could become full time in the future, if funding is available.
Assists communications department with marketing and public relations projects by designing and producing print and web publications, copywriting, assisting to support social media, the college website, and video content. In order to perform the essential functions of this position, the individual must possess the ability to communicate effectively, concentrate, analyze data, pay attention to detail, retain learned knowledge, and demonstrate strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will assist with design marketing materials: brochures, flyers, catalogs, posters, direct mail pieces, newsletters, etc.; produce press ready documents; write copy for various marketing materials; support the web in the content management system with graphics and content; pull analytical reports, and provide support on projects as needed. This position works with the College Communication team to market the college via web, print, public relations, and video. The position assists with networking through Twitter, MySpace, Face-Book, and You-Tube, etc., in daily communication on these sites. The individual hired will need to remain current in the newest and latest social media advancement and work collaboratively within the team to analyze feasibility of the College’s participation in various social media networks. There will be other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Social Media, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field.
- Demonstrated Social Media experience (resume must list specific social media experience)
- Experience with professional graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Acrobat
- Photography skills
- Pre-press experience
- Experience with Drupal (CMS)
