Below is a list of resources available to students enrolled in math courses at CCA
Placement: Preparing for the Accuplacer Placement Exam
Because proper placement is the biggest key to success in a math class, the Community College of Aurora provides several options to prepare for the Accuplacer, the exam that determines the appropriate level of math for most students enrolling at CCA.
This includes study guides, a 2-hour refresher workshop, and we have videotaped the workshop in case they do not meet your schedule.
See the following link http://www.ccaurora.edu/students/academic/mathpreassmt.shtml
Math Lab
The Math Lab, located at the CentreTech campus in C109, is a resource area for students enrolled in math courses. Drop-in tutoring is offered to students during the semester.
Check the current schedule for tutoring hours.
Computers are available for students to access on-line tutorials, and students can view videos that supplement their course book. Supplimental videos may also be checked out for home viewing.
Digital video tutors (CD-ROM format) for MAT 030, 060, 090, 106, 120, 121, 122, 135, 166 are also available.
Study Skills
Much of success has to do with preparing to be successful. The following is an introduction on how to create the study habits you need to be a success.
Here are a few websites that give more detail about study skills.

Calculator Rentals
Texas Instruments TI-83+ and TI-84 graphing calculators may be rented from the LRC on a semester by semester basis.
Rental costs for one of the above calculators are as follows:
- $20 per semester for the calculator alone
- $25 per semester for both the calculator and its manual
- The $5 extra fee for the manual is refundable at the end of the semester
Calculators and manuals must be returned at the end of the semester!
To rent a calculator, first pay the rental fee at the cashier's desk in the Administration building, and then bring the reciept over to the LRC. They will issue you your rented calculator there.
Math Web Library
"Finding web resources for help with mathematics is as easy as a search on google. Finding good ones that actually help can be a bit more challenging..." (CCA student, 2006).
Not all websites contain good material, but the following list contains links to sites that we feel are worth the student's time to explore. Help on a large number of mathematics related topics can be found on these sites.
