CCA's Disaster Management Institute, faculty, staff, students to play key role in Sept. 23 Operation Mountain Guardian
The Community College of Aurora will play an integral role in the Sept. 23 Operation Mountain Guardian Emergency Exercise when its Disaster Management Institute serves as the Master Exercise Control Center managing the entire, day-long multijurisdictional operation. This grand-scale exercise, funded by a Homeland Security grant, will take place at multiple locations throughout the metro and will involve thousands of participants.

The BNSF Foundation has awarded a grant of $3,000 to the Community College of Aurora Foundation to support the Community English as a Second Language (ESL) program at the college. The program serves nearly 1,800 adult community members each year.

Boulder musician Beth Cole to offer Sept. 16 performance of "The Harp of Brandiswhiere"
The highly praised composition "The Harp of Brandiswhiere: Suite for Celtic Harp" will be performed for the community at 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 at CCA's CentreTech Campus. Boulder musician Beth A. Cole will play the harp and Wayne A. Gilbert, CCA faculty member and Denver poet, will read the legend between the musical pieces. The event is free and open to the public.

The Hollywood Reporter, a magazine that bills itself as "the definitive interpretive voice of the entertainment industry," has named The Colorado Film School at CCA as one of the top 25 film schools in the world alongside prestigious institutions such as the American Film Institute, University of Southern California, UCLA, Syracuse University, Columbia University, and the Beijing Film Academy.
