Xcel Energy Foundation Camps at CCA to Benefit
APS Gateway High and APS Overland High School Students
Approximately 35 students from Gateway High School in Aurora will attend a Sept. 25 Xcel Energy Foundation Camp at CCA and will isolate and map DNA, discover the realities of a career as a paramedic, and dissect a cat as part of the day’s events. A similar Camp will be held for Overland High students on Oct. 2.

National Science Foundation Grant to fund
CCA Faculty Institute in GIS
The National Science Foundation has awarded a grant of $149,909 to the Community College of Aurora
for support of a project titled Community College GIS Faculty Institute. Under the direction of
CCA faculty members Dr. Geoff Hunt and Elizabeth Hirsh, the Institute will train CCA faculty
across the disciplines in the application of Geographic Information Systems technologies for
implementation in the classroom. The award is effective August 1.

CCAs newest graduates at a ceremony held May 9 at the Arapahoe

CCA will commemorate the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout with a two-day event to
