AURORA, COLO.—In recognition of spring’s arrival, and coinciding with the International Year of Astronomy event “The Globe at Night,” Community College of Aurora offers to the community a special public observatory event at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 20.

As a component of the evening, participants will be invited to contribute to “The Globe at Night” project, in which people around the world measure the amount of light pollution where they live and send their information to a worldwide database. CCA organizers will teach participants how to take part in this exercise.

CCA, the only public institution in Aurora with an observatory, makes this unique resource available to CCA students, Aurora high schools, and the entire community. The March 20 event is free and open to the public and will be held at the Community College of Aurora, 16000 E. CentreTech Parkway, Aurora. For more information, call 303.340.7037.
