Welcome to the Aurora Language Center, the Community College of Aurora's English language instruction department. The Aurora Language Center is two separate but complementary programs created to serve adult English Language Learners:

  • The College Preparatory English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
     
  • The Community ESL Program

The College Preparatory ESL Program offers high-quality language classes that help students master English for college, career training programs, and overall language ability. 

  • Grammar and composition for academic writing
  • Reading and listening skills for the college classroom

The Community ESL Program teaches English to adults through a curriculum that is designed to help students learn the language skills they need for work and for day-to-day life in the United States. The classes cover speaking, listening, reading and writing, along with the necessary vocabulary and grammar. Classwork includes practice with real-life experiences such as filling out forms, reading labels, and finding jobs.
