Mission statement: The Global Initiatives committee at the Community College of Aurora fosters global understanding, addresses issues that transcend national boundaries, and prepares learners to become global citizens.

International Festival - Expressions of Faith Around the World
Join the seventh annual celebration of world cultures. This year the theme will be Expressions of Faith Around the World; students from across the curriculum will present projects that work to explore this and many other important issues.

The Religious Roots of Nonviolent Social Action: Exploring the Interfaith Legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Aung San Suu Kui.
Guest poet Claudia Roquette-Pinto reading and speaking as part of the World Masterpieces literature class. Roquette-Pinto is the author of five poetry collections; she lives and works in Rio de Janeiro.
