  • Foundational approach adopted

    The Art & Design program at CCA wants its students to “think differently” than they have previously about their craft.

    Community College of Aurora’s featured fall stage production will be Harper Lee’s “To Kill A Mockingbird,” adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel.

  • New leadership hails cooperation

    The City of Aurora and Community College of Aurora have enjoyed a strong partnership through the years. And with Dr. Betsy Oudenhoven now in place as college president and the rest of her leadership team taking form, Mayor Steve Hogan is hopeful that the two entities can solidify the relationship to the benefit of both parties in the short term.

  • Available books jumps by millions

    Community College of Aurora in collaboration with Aurora Public Library is the first higher education institution in the United States to employ new technology that provides students access to over 30 million library holdings, while affording direct access to items in and around its own home state.

  • CentreTech event to be held Oct. 25

    CCA is hosting a Fall Festival, with activities for the whole family, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m

    There will be food, music provided by 107.5 FM and prize giveaways.

  • Theme is "Art in a Flash"

    The CCA Faculty Show entitled "Art in a Flash" kicked off Oct. 9 and will run at the Donna Moravec Gallery on Lowry campus through Oct 23. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

    The show represents many mediums, from fibers to jewelry, painting to ceramics, and more.

  • Will instruct teachers in Chile

    Ruby Eichenour, a sixth-year adjunct in Community College of Aurora’s ESL program, has been awarded a Fulbright Global Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) award. She is expected to begin her three-month teaching expedition in Chile sometime in the spring of 2015.

  • Simulation space debuts

    Trial was in session in early May at the newly opened courtroom inside the Center for Simulation, with CCA employees taking the stand, wedged inside the jury box, and an adjunct faculty member presiding as judge.

  • CCCS cites academic rigor

    CCA's Translation and Interpretation certificate program has been cited for excellence by the Colorado Community College System not only for its work within the classroom, but also for its students' successful transition into the marketplace.

    Marketing efforts, word-of-mouth, and a revised scheduling blueprint has helped grow the program over the last year.

  • Speech to have equity lens

     James Gray, co-chair of the college’s Equity in Excellence project that is studying gaps in African-American academic outcomes and presenting methodologies in an effort to improve them, has been asked to speak June 30 at The National Forum on Education Policy annual conference in Washington D.C.
