  • Goal: raise level of filmmaking

    Two dozen esteemed filmmakers from the world’s third-largest producer of content were embedded in an intensive four-week course at the Colorado Film School this spring. Their overarching mission: to raise professional standards for future features in Nigeria – and potentially allow their homeland to compete for international awards.

    CNN featured CCA on its July 13 broadcast of "Fareed Zakaria GPS."

  • Theme is "Art in a Flash"

    The CCA Faculty Show entitled "Art in a Flash" kicked off Oct. 9 and will run at the Donna Moravec Gallery on Lowry campus through Oct 23. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

    The show represents many mediums, from fibers to jewelry, painting to ceramics, and more.

  • Providing tools, info on intimacy

    Community College of Aurora presents its first Safe Is Sexy event Oct. 23 from 11 a.m.-3:15 p.m. in the Student Centre Rotunda on CentreTech campus. It is a CCA original program that's focused on providing information on sexual health, consent, assault prevention, and healthy relationships.

  • Simulation space debuts

    Trial was in session in early May at the newly opened courtroom inside the Center for Simulation, with CCA employees taking the stand, wedged inside the jury box, and an adjunct faculty member presiding as judge.

  • Students Receive 370% Return on Investment

    CCA's economic ImpactA new economic impact study released May 8 revealed that the Community College of Aurora’s annual financial impact in its service community amounted to $187.487 million.

  • Will instruct teachers in Chile

    Ruby Eichenour, a sixth-year adjunct in Community College of Aurora’s ESL program, has been awarded a Fulbright Global Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) award. She is expected to begin her three-month teaching expedition in Chile sometime in the spring of 2015.

    The City of Aurora and Community College of Aurora have enjoyed a strong partnership through the years. And with Dr. Betsy Oudenhoven now in place as college president and the rest of her leadership team taking form, Mayor Steve Hogan is hopeful that the two entities can solidify the relationship to the benefit of both parties in the short term.

  • Thirty-plus colleges expected

    CCA students can learn about their transfer options at the CCA Fall Transfer Fair, slated for Oct. 29 at both CentreTech (11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) and Lowry (3:30-5:30 p.m.).
