If you want a headstart into the fast-paced world of law enforcement, this is where it begins! Our law enforcement graduates are working throughout the state. Many serve in leadership positions, and we are proud to have several past graduates go on to become police chiefs!

Our program is certified by the Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (P.O.S.T.).  We have full and part-time academies and in our courses, you will earn academic credit toward the completion of a degree.

  • Students Receive 370% Return on Investment

    CCA's economic ImpactA new economic impact study released May 8 revealed that the Community College of Aurora’s annual financial impact in its service community amounted to $187.487 million.

  • Attempt to glean best practices

    More than a dozen educators from the Netherlands attending a national conference in Denver made a pit stop to Lowry on Nov. 4 in order to see how the structure and culture within the Colorado community college system might be applied to institutions back home.

  • Available books jumps by millions

    Community College of Aurora in collaboration with Aurora Public Library is the first higher education institution in the United States to employ new technology that provides students access to over 30 million library holdings, while affording direct access to items in and around its own home state.

  • Goal: raise level of filmmaking

    Two dozen esteemed filmmakers from the world’s third-largest producer of content were embedded in an intensive four-week course at the Colorado Film School this spring. Their overarching mission: to raise professional standards for future features in Nigeria – and potentially allow their homeland to compete for international awards.

    Community College of Aurora has taken its Model United Nations program to the next level – to the national conference in New York City this March.

  • Will instruct teachers in Chile

    Ruby Eichenour, a sixth-year adjunct in Community College of Aurora’s ESL program, has been awarded a Fulbright Global Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) award. She is expected to begin her three-month teaching expedition in Chile sometime in the spring of 2015.

  • Event free, open to public

    The Colorado Film School presents its Fall 2014 Student Show on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. The show will be comprised of a two-hour viewing of CFS' best student films.

    Projects are judged by faculty in the areas of Technical Merit, Storytelling, and Originality.

  • CCCS cites academic rigor

    CCA's Translation and Interpretation certificate program has been cited for excellence by the Colorado Community College System not only for its work within the classroom, but also for its students' successful transition into the marketplace.

    Marketing efforts, word-of-mouth, and a revised scheduling blueprint has helped grow the program over the last year.

  • Perseverance put on display

    CCA will hold its 10th annual Student Success Awards on Dec. 5, which honors students for persistence in overcoming obstacles to receive an education. In total, 31 students will be recognized.
