PERSONAL FITNESS TRAINER CERTIFICATE – FALL SEMESTER 2009

 

This academy-style program will prepare and train students interested in becoming personal fitness trainers. Students will be prepared and trained to work with the fitness needs of the general public. At the completion of the program in Spring 2010, students will be prepared to test for the Personal Trainer certification from the American Council on Fitness and other certificated fitness organizations.

Fall Term to Spring terms:                    Sept. 28, 2009 – May 21, 2010

SCHEDULE:
The program will start on September 28th, and will be run academy–style. Enrolled students will attend classes on the Lowry campus in Bldg. 859 and at the CCA Lowry campus gym on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Study will include both classroom lecture and discussion combined with hands-on instruction and training in the CCA Lowry gym. Students will be exposed to, and train with, all forms of exercise equipment including computerized fitness testing equipment, weight and cardio machines, free weights and kettlebells. Students must successfully complete all of the courses within the training program with a “C” grade or better to graduate.
