PHYSICAL GEOLOGY

GEY 111-171 (Hybrid-Online)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

 

Studies the materials of the earth, its structure, surface features, and the geologic processes involved in its development.  The course includes a laboratory.

 

HYBRID DESCRIPTION:

 

Hybrid courses offer the convenience of an Internet course with the opportunity to meet face to face with the instructor and classmates.  Although all of the work can be done through the internet, scheduled meeting times will be published for each course.  There may be mandatory onsite meetings for some courses to take midterm or final examinations.

 

 

 

REQUIRED MEETING DATES, TIMES, AND LOCATION:

 

Physical Geology will have REQUIRED meetings on Mondays, June 2 – August 4) from 9 AM – 12:00 PM in CTC-315.  The first class meeting (6/2) also serves as an orientation session.

Physical Geology by Plummer et al., 11th ed.; and Physical Geology Lab Manual by Zumberge et al.; 13th ed.  Both are available in the CCA Bookstore.

Attend the orientation session, skim the table of contents, and read Chapter 1.

 

ORIENTATION SESSION/FIRST MEETING:

 

The required orientation session is the first class meeting on June 2.

 

 

 

OTHER INFORMATION:

 

Physical Geology is a State of Colorado Guaranteed Transfer Course which is transferable to all 4-year Colleges in Colorado and generally the U.S.  This course is evaluated by 4 chapter tests and 2 lab tests.  A field trip will be scheduled.
