COURSE TITLE: Introduction to Computer Information Systems and Introduction to the PC COURSE DESCRIPTION CIS 115: This is an overview of the needs for and roles of computer information systems. Emphasis is on computer requirements in organizations, history, hardware functions, programming, systems development, and computer operations. Hands-on experience with applications and programming will be included. COURSE DESCRIPTION CIS 110: A course for the beginning computer user to obtain hands-on experience in the elementary use of the personal computer. This course introduces the basic features and terminology associated with personal computers, including topics such as database, spreadsheets, and word processing.

CCA CIS Bundle purchased as a single bundle at CCA bookstore.
·OTHER REQUIRED MATERIALS A USB drive with a minimum capacity of 32 MB, is required to save student data files and for backup purposes. (HIGHLY recommended) You are strongly urged to make two back-up copies of each exercise and project. No leniency will be given if files or disks are lost / deleted if you did not make a back-up copy. 2 Manilla Envelopes ·OTHER: CCA will provide accommodations for qualified students with disabilities. ORIENTATION SESSION/FIRST MEETING: |

You must attend student Blackboard Vista Orientation training. .New this semester, there are also advanced training classes for students. I strongly recommend that if you’ve already had Vista training, that you attend the advanced class. Download the form in the “Getting Started” folder and have the instructor at Vista training collect the form and give it to me. | |||||

Please use only MS Office 2003. 2007 version will have some different ways of doing your assignments, but you MUST save your work in 2003 format. I cannot open 2007 version. | |||||
