COURSE DESCRIPTION:

 

[This course introduces computer concepts and components as well as coverage of application suite software and the Internet. Included are descriptions of and hands-on experiences with word processors, spreadsheets, databases, operating environments and other common PC applications packages.

COURSE DESCRIPTION 161: This course will introduce the development of presentation graphics materials including graphs, charts, illustrations, and diagrams. Emphasis will be on effective communication.

Shelly Cashman Series, MS Office 2007, Introductory Concepts and Techniques.  You can get the textbook at the bookstore or order online at http://class.ccaurora.edu/ click on Information for Students and then click on the link for the bookstore

 

REQUIRED MATERIALS:

 

A jump drive with a minimum capacity of 128 MB, is required to save student data files and for backup purposes

 

REQUIRED HARDWARE/ SOFTWARE:

· Supported version of Java

·To confirm your software is supported, run the Browser Check at http://online.ccaurora.edu

Microsoft Windows XP or higher.

Microsoft Office 2007.

 

(Microsoft Office 2007 is not included with Microsoft Windows XP and must be purchased separately. The best price for this software is at the CCA bookstore.)

 

Older versions of Microsoft Office will not be able to read the student data files for this class

 

 

HOW TO GET STARTED:

 

Go to the class Web site and do two things.

1. Click on ‘Start Here’.  This will tell you how
 to use the class Web site.

2. Complete the first activity called
 ‘First Assignment

   You can access this assignment from the link
     on the left side of the screen called
     ‘
Assignments’.
