Aurora Community College, Aurora, Colorado
1/98- present: Psychology Professor: Develops, designs
and teaches classroom and online sections of General
Psychology I, Mind, Body, Health and Healing; and the
Dynamics of Racism and Prejudice. Served on the
internal NCAA Human Resources Committee, mentors new
faculty created research paper grading matrix for the
psychology department, submitted student success
retention proposal and provides other services as
requested.
9/95- 1/98: Psychology Department Chair: Supervised
twenty part and full time faculty. Performed staffing,
scheduling, and general departmental administrative
duties. Chaired the Math/Sciences Distance Learning
Committee and the Resident Faculty Selection committee;
served on the Honors Program Committee, was a member of
the Diversity Alliance and Faculty Advisor to the Black
Student Alliance
9/92- 9/95: Social Science Division Chair: Supervised
sixty full and part time faculty. Performed all
budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and general
administrative duties for the seven departments
(Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History,
Psychology, Political Science Sociology, Women's
Studies, and Physical Education and Recreation) of the
division.
1/85- 9/92: Psychology Department Coordinator: Assisted
Division Coordinator with all administrative duties for
the Department of Psychology, as requested.
1/84- 1/85: Adjunct Faculty: Taught Psychology and
Sociology classes as assigned.
All positions included course design and teaching.
Courses taught included: General Psychology I / II,
Human Growth and Development, The Psychology of Racism
and Group Prejudice, Human Relations in Business and
Industry, Industrial Psychology, organizational
Psychology, Adolescent and Adult Development, Parenting,
the Psychology of Male/ Female Relationships, and
Sociology I / II. Online, classroom and extensive
telecourse design and delivery were undertaken.
After the first year at CCA, all positions involved,
faculty supervision and departmental/ divisional
administrative duties, including such activities as:
mentoring of new and established instructors, general
program development and coordination (i.e. the
Counseling Needs Program, the Family Forum, the Distance
Learning Program and the Honors Program), general
committee work and institutional service, curriculum
development, textbook review and selection, and a
variety of professional development memberships and
activities.
MENTOR: Observed, evaluated and assisted new
instructors. Also performed in-class
observation-evaluations of established faculty.
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT: Developed curriculum guides for
nine of the sixteen Psychology courses offered by the
college including: Human Relations in Business and
Industry, Social Psychology and Psychology of Women.
COLLEGE COMMITTEES: Served on the selection committee
for the Director of Community Services and the selection
committee for the Marketing-Management Instructional
Coordinator. Represented part-time faculty on the Shared
Governance Election Committee.
FACULTY ADVISOR: Organized and advised the Psychology
Honors Club and newsletter. Eight guest lectures were
hosted on campus as a result of club efforts. Served as
faculty advisor during student registration.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Worked with three other faculty
members on the development of a Family Forum. The Forum
provided an arena for exploring issues that impact the
contemporary changing family unity. Research,
traditional and non-traditional classes and support
services were offered.

INSTRUCTOR-ADMINISTRATOR: Adult Basic Skills Program.
Organized, directed and coordinated all activities of
the Adult Basic Skills Program. Those activities
included teaching developmental English and math
courses; administering placement tests, evaluating
results and maintaining placement records; providing
long-range and drop-in basic skills tutoring; developing
and facilitating study skill workshops and working on
the institutionalization of study skills for all
students.
Most Outstanding Accomplishment: Chairing the Programs
Curricula Committee for the Self Evaluation in pursuit
of DTC's North Central Accreditation. This committee was
composed of department chairs from Drafting, General
Education, Accounting/ Business, Sports Medicine
Technology, and Computer Science and a variety of DTC
faculty and staff. The committee met from January 1988
through May 1988 and the final report was deemed
exceptional.

Read and evaluated funding requests from fourteen U.S.

INSTRUCTOR: Psychology Department. Designed, developed
and taught courses in Introductory Psychology, Human
Development, Child Growth and Development and Parenting.
Performed all traditional duties of full time faculty,
also served on Search Committees and Affirmative Action
Committee (assisted writing of A.A. guidelines). Worked
extensively with Cooperative Education Program, served
as B.S.A. (Black Student's Alliance) Faculty Advisor,
designed and implemented Black History Month Project.

Most Outstanding Accomplishment: Human Growth and
Development - A T.V. course. Worked with the media
department to direct and produce twenty-one videotapes,
which served along with a textbook as a freestanding
section of PSY 216. Interviewed and lectured on-camera.
Wrote twenty-one scripts, a study guide, exams and an
instructor's key. The course attracted forty (+)
students each of the seven quarters it was offered.

COORDINATOR: Minority Affairs and Business, Cooperative
Education Program. Designed, planned and administered
Cooperative Education's Minority Affairs Program and all
co-op activities for student in the School of Business.
Primary duties were student recruitment, screening/
placement, and retention; maintenance of program/
faculty interaction, academic and career counseling and
Business Community Development. The purpose of the
program was student internship and career development.
Additional job duties involved public relations, career
education and the seeking of funds for developmental
projects related specifically to the needs of minority
students in the Cooperative Education Program.
