Community College of Aurora offers classes on Buckley AFB, the CentreTech and Lowry Campuses. Course taken at CCA are easily transferable to other community colleges (CCAF) and universities across the country.

Credit for Prior Learning

 

Student can be awarded credit hours for prior learning, up to 75 percent of the requirements, for a degree program through a combination of the following:

·         Credit awarded for military experience and training

·         Portfolio Assessment

·         Standardized Testing (CLEP, DSST (DANTES) – see info below, fee-based exams for other schools and professional exams)

·         College Transfer Credit

Earn College Credit during High School


Post Secondary Education Options for High School Students: Colorado High School Students can attend College and get reimbursement from their school district. Please see the attached link for more information:
PSEO/CCA.

 

Spouse/Dependents

 

Contact your local Education Office for a Military In-State Waiver.  This form will give you in-state tuition rates, and must be submitted each semester prior to attending classes to the Enrollment Services office.

We are glad to have you as a student, whether you will be attending classes at one of our campuses or taking classes online. Testing

 

CLEP and DSST (DANTES) examinations are available at Buckley for active duty members, their spouses and DOD/Civilians. Registration is online. See the Buckley section under CLEP and DSST (DANTES) for details.

The Assessment/Course Placement Test assists students in making course and educational program decisions to choose the appropriate reading, math, and English class.  Click on this link for more information:  http://www.ccaurora.edu/students/academic/testing/assessment.shtml

 

Special free pre-assessment workshops are available for students who need a refresher before taking the Accu-placer college assessment exam. These  are provided free of charge during registration each semester.
  • The Math Pre-Assessment Workshops are designed to update students on math and algebra skills before they take the Accuplacer assessment that places them into their first math class. Tuition Assistance & Military In-State Waiver


Active duty military, using military tuition assistance, need to visit their base education center to obtain the necessary forms. Tuition assistance form and the Military In-State Waiver form are due no later than the term drop date. Active Duty Personnel who are eligible to receive tuition assistance (TA) must first apply to CCA by completing an Application for Admissions online at
www.ccaurora.edu and applying for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) for in-state tuition rates.   Then register for any courses at Buckley, CentreTech or Lowry Campuses
