Among the academic support services you can rely on at Community College of Aurora are those offered by the Testing Center, where the outcome of your Placement Test will help assure your success in college. The results of that test will determine where your education program begins so that you can be placed in the appropriate reading, math, and English classes. Additionally, the Center provides a variety of other testing services for CCA students and the community.
We also offer an Accessibility Services Office, which provides accommodations and assistive technology to students with disabilities to afford them an opportunity to reach their highest possible potential in higher education. Let us work with you to determine if you can receive these services to help advance your education.
And our Academic Support Lab was created for students at all levels to promote their academic success. Resources are provided to prepare students for college-level courses and help them succeed once enrolled. Free drop-in tutoring is available in certain subject areas. Check our Tutoring link for more information.
The Trio program offers support to first-generation and low-income students along with thosewith a documented learning or physical disability. Students are assigned anadvisor and have access to various academic resources, including tutoring, help applying for scholarships and laptop loans. The overarching goal of the program is completing an associate’s degree on a pathway to transfer to a four-year institution.
The Counseling office contracts licensed counselors who will meet with you, listen and help figure out options to address your individual problems and challenges. We then provide referrals to both on-campus and community resources to help you handle what life sends your way. We do not provide traditional, ongoing counseling or therapy, but we will work with you to find the support and assistance you need.
