Pre-GED Test Information - 303-340-7542
The Pre-GED is used to determine a student’s readiness to take the official GED. The test is administered by appointment during Testing Center hours.

CCA offers the official GED practice exam for those wishing to evaluate their readiness to take the actual official GED exam. The Pre-test is not required.

The Pre-GED takes about 4 hours to complete.

There is a $10.00 fee for the entire test (five sections).

Testers may take one or more sections at a time, taking the exam in a single seating or over a period of up to three months.

Results are mailed directly to student. Results do not affect actual GED scores.

Testers must present a valid, current photo ID (i.e. Driver’s license or passport).

Testers may use their calculators (Casio 260 ONLY) on the math portion.

College Resources for GED Preparation
GED in English – SELF PACED are held at Self-Improvement Opportunities at 303-365-9367 (message) Mon. & Wed. or Tues. and Thurs. Fees are $10/month.
GED Prep in English and Spanish (Adams County Residents Only) are offered through the CHOICES Program at the Center for Workforce Development on Lowry Campus. Interested individuals must live in Adams County, have an income, and have a dependent child living with them. Please contact Katie Billotte to apply at 303.340.7040 or Katie.Billotte@CCAurora.edu. Your questions can be answered in Spanish or English. The CWD also offers non-credit English as a Second Language (ESL) classes under the CHOICES program.
We also have general for credit and non-credit ESL classes for students wanting to go on to college or needing more English, Math, Reading or other subject courses before taking the GED exam or other programs. For credit ESL course, see the college schedule.Non-credit courses are listed in the Aurora Language Center.
Although CCA does not offer GED preparation classes, it does offer basic skills classes that can be used to help students build skills in target areas such as reading, writing and mathematics, and to obtain degrees or certificates.

Community Partner Resources for GED preparation
The Learning Source, in partnership with the Community College of Aurora, offers GED preparation at the Centre Tech campus in room A 108 on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00. Classes are also held on the Lowry Campus on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 and evening from 6:30 to 9:00. Non-refundable contribution fee, $60.
