Major in Computer Information Systems

 

A degree in Computer Information Systems provides skills and competencies in CIS theory and concepts and their application to the functional areas of business; problem solving in business organizations; CIS development methodologies, techniques and technologies; digital computer hardware, systems software, application software, peripheral equipment, network components/installation and systems configurations; CIS ethics, the impact of information systems on society, organizations and individuals in both the domestic and international arenas. Graduates can look forward to challenging careers in computer information systems or using their computer information systems knowledge within any other area of business. Specific career fields consist of systems analysis, design, development, programming, database management/administration, data communications, networks/network administration, electronic commerce, website development/administration and management of information systems.
