Applying for Financial Aid at CCA
![]()
To apply for student financial aid from the federal government (including the Pell Grant, Stafford Loan, and Work-Study), you will need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). There is no charge for submitting this form. The FAFSA is also required for need-based aid provided by the State of Colorado, as well as for many scholarships and student assistance programs.
The FAFSA or RENEWAL FAFSA can be completed on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. A paper version is available from the CCA Financial Aid Office, local high schools or local libraries. Be certain to read and follow all of the instructions on the FAFSA application. The Title IV School Code for CCA is 016058.
CCA’s financial aid year starts with the Fall Semester and ends with the Summer Semester each year. You will need to choose the FAFSA application corresponding to the semester(s) you plan to attend.
Use the 2007-2008 FAFSA application if you plan on attending CCA during the Fall 2007,
Spring 2008, and Summer 2008 semesters. The last day to submit the 2007-2008 FAFSA is June 30, 2008.
Four to six weeks after submitting a FAFSA to the Federal processor, you will
receive confirmation of your financial aid application in the form of a Student
Aid Report (SAR). Be sure to check your SAR for accuracy and make any necessary
corrections on-line or use Part II of your SAR. Contact the CCA Financial Aid
Office if you have questions about making SAR changes or if you wish to add CCA
to your SAR. CCA
will receive your financial aid application from the Federal Processor
electronically. At this point, we will send you a Missing Information Letter,
which will notify you of which forms and documents you must submit to the CCA
Financial Aid Office in order for us to continue processing your financial aid
application. The forms you need to complete will be sent to you (you can also
download these forms from the FORM link). You must return all the requested
documents. Your file is not complete until our office receives all requested
documents and they are completed correctly.
Financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The order in which
a student’s file is completed determines when the award is made. CCA has three
priority consideration dates during the year. If a student has a completed file
in the CCA Financial Aid Office by the following dates, they will be given
priority in determining eligibility for financial aid:
Fall
Semester May 1
Spring Semester November 1
Summer Semester April 1 Please refer to the CCA
Financial Aid Handbook for additional information on the application process.
Use the 2008-2009 FAFSA application if you plan on attending CCA during the Fall 2008, Spring 2009, and Summer
2009 semesters. The last day to submit the 2008-2009 FAFSA is June 30, 2009. Be sure to apply as soon as
possible after January 1, 2008.
