Academic Search Premier contains many major peer-reviewed journals in Art, including: Art Bulletin, Art History, Art in America, Art Journal, Art Monthly, and many others.

Identifying Books in the library catalog

To find items on a specific aspect of Colorado History, do a Keyword search for Colorado History and that topic. For example:

Digital Sanborn Maps

ProQuest Information and Learning's Digital Sanborn Maps, 1867-1970 provides academic and public libraries digital access to more than 660,000 large-scale maps of more than 12,000 American towns and cities, including several hundred in Colorado. 

You can search four major digital collections relating to Colorado History in the Colorado Virtual Library. These collections include: the DPL Western History and Genealogy Photo Collection; the Heritage West Collection; the Colorado Western Trails collection; and the Colorado School of Mines Image Database. 

Colorado Historic Newspaper Collection

The Colorado Historic Newspaper Collection is a collection of digitized historic newspapers, published in Colorado between 1859 and 1923. The database can be searched by keyword and you can view the articles as they originally appeared in local newspapers.

Colorado State Archives

The Colorado State Archives provides an excellent library of Colorado historical records including: Census Records, 1870 Colorado Census Index, Colorado Veterans' Grave Registration, Colorado Volunteers (Civil War) Index, Birth Certificates (after 1900)*,  Civilian Conservation Corps Enrollees, City Directories, Business Incorporations, Court Records, and more...Some records are online.
