The World Languages Department at the Community College of Aurora is dedicated to the teaching of languages and cultures of the world. 

Our goal as classroom instructors is to provide an exciting, invigorating, and motivating classroom experience.  We do so using a communicative method that emphasizes a balance between practice and theory; including a heavy dose of conversational interaction in the target language.  Most importantly, our classes are taught by highly qualified instructors whose primary love is teaching.

If you are interested in a college language certificate, check our Language Achievement Certificate or Translation and Interpretation Certificate (TRI). We also offer Medical Spanish.

Currently, we offer language classes in American Sign Language, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish.  Additionally, we are developing a study abroad experience in Costa Rica with more information to come shortly!  We also sponsor the college-wide Spanish Club, for which you need no background in the language to participate.   

Students who complete coursework in our department not only uncover an entirely new world but also better position themselves to transfer to a four-year university and for future employment.  Our job is to serve the community and we are here to do just that.  Please get in touch with us if we can serve you in any way!
