IE Council and Leadership Team

The Inclusive Excellence Council

The IE Council meets the second Friday of each month (except for June, July, & August) from 10:00am - 12:00pm.  We address general IE Council work and updates in the first hour and the second hour is dedicated solely to committee work.

Additionally, we hold IE Professional Developments (open to the whole College) on the 4th Friday of each month from 12:00pm - 2:00pm.  Stay tuned for marketing and promotion (usually via email, calendar invites, flyers, and D2L).

IE Council Committees

Using our IE Strategic plan as a guide, our committees provide intentional efforts to foster and implement IE.  The function of all committees are flexible and allow for movement and change as needed.  All IE Council members are expected to participate in one of the following committees:

Assessment Committee

  • Continue the work of the 2019 climate survey
  • Implement IE Survey Rubric implantation (based off NERCHE)
  • Conduct needs assessment to inform the Council on strategic planning efforts on an as-needed basis

Communications Committee

  • Work with College Marketing & Communications for social media efforts
  • Develop and maintain a virtual space for IE-related content & resources (OneDrive, D2L)
  • Connection with Aurora and Denver Community for Vendor List and Community Relations

Human Resources Committee

  • Research and recommend IE recruitment best practices
  • IE audit of current policies and procedures
  • Research and recommend best practices aimed at retaining Employees of Color and those from marginalized groups

Programming Committee

  • Create, plan, and implement campus-wide events and programs for students, faculty, instructors, and staff

Leadership Team

Comprised of two faculty, five full-time staff, and one student, this team represents different backgrounds, educational and work experiences, diversity, and longevity at the institution. As a team, their goal is to intentionally and strategically focus on education, training, and development for the campus.
