December 2019: As the semester winds down, we are thankful for the recent events accomplished at CCA: tabling for the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, exploring Cancel Culture, celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day, learning about Justice: Know Your Rights, and honoring the Transgender Day of Remembrance. Above is an image from the Transgender Day of Remembrance event. It shows CCA students, staff, and faculty working together to build a papier-mâché monument symbolizing a candle: each strip of paper used in the creation has the name of an individual whose life was taken due to transphobic violence. The IE Council also participated in the Day of Service. The photo below is of some council members participating in the Day of Service at the Plains Conservation Center: crushing tumbleweeds and taking names!

May 2019: CCA was selected to be a participant in the Foundation for Student Success grant project (FSS). Faculty and staff applied for an received mini-grants to advance Inclusive Excellence at CCA and contribute to the success of our students. This details how funds were utilized and the amazing work that transpired over the last year. We are proud of the work the community accomplished with supporting the students and the institution.
2019 Student Climate Survey: In February 2019, a climate survey was distributed to the CCA student community to better understand the perspectives of CCA students on a variety of topics and issues concerning equity, diversity and Inclusive Excellence at the Community College of Aurora.
