As the college embraces Inclusive Excellence (IE) this strategic plan will help guide how we can work together to institutionalize IE on multiple levels. Everyone will have an opportunity to contribute to this effort and make the goals throughout the plan relevant and tangible for their respective departments. This plan is intended for the entire college to share in the implementation and will also be used to inform CCA’s next College-Wide strategic plan for the next five years.
Goal 1: Assess and evaluate practices, policies, curriculum, student learning, and program outcomes, as well as campus attitudes and experiences for equity and inclusion.
Goal 2: Involve students in the IE process by elevating the student voice, creating more inclusive student physical spaces, creating and maintaining direct IE programming, providing educational IE resources, and offering mentoring opportunities for students.
Goal 3: Establish and expand resources to support IE at CCA.
Goal 4: Develop and consistently offer training for students, faculty, and staff; support individual departments through IE training that meets the needs of their specific disciplines and/or services.
Goal 5: Implement inclusive hiring and onboarding practices, offer IE professional development opportunities, and require an IE goal in every performance plan.
In order to achieve the outcomes in this plan from 2017-2022, the IE Council was asked to identify three major priorities to focus on all of the goals that could be used to achieve. The year markers for these priorities mean that there will be a primary focus for that year, but every priority will be addressed every year of this strategic plan utilizing the methods identified and executed by college leadership and committees from the IE Council. These priorities were identified based on feedback from employees and students at CCA.
Year 1 Priority of IE Strategic Plan: Increase Student Engagement with IE
Year 3 Priority of IE Strategic Plan: Establish a Center for Teaching and Learning
Year 5 Priority of IE Strategic Plan: Embed IE throughout Human Resources
