Transfer Fair Offers Opportunities to Meet Four-Year Representatives and Make Important Connections
If transferring to a four-year institution is part of your educational path, it’s important to consider all the options that are available to you. There are times when we simply don’t know where to begin … that’s okay!
The office of Transfer Success Initiatives will offer many opportunities through the spring 2020 semester for CCA students to connect with four-year institutions and learn more about the career opportunities available within their chosen path.
Transfer Success’s first event of the semester is a pair of Transfer Fairs — one at the CentreTech campus and the other at the Lowry campus.
The CentreTech fair will be on Monday, January 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Rotunda (room S100 in the Student Centre) while the Lowry fair is scheduled for Tuesday, January 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Todd Bergren Room (room 112 in the West Quad Building.
Here are three reasons why you should stop by and attend one of these fairs, or a future transfer fair at CCA:
1) Learn About Four-Year Programs and Opportunities
It’s important to ask questions — remember, CCA and the college’s transfer partners are here to help you! There are multiple factors — degree offerings, cost, location, and others — to consider when researching four-year schools, so be sure to bring your questions and get the answers you need to make the best decision possible.
2) Create Connections
Many of CCA’s four-year partners are also open to helping you create an initial connection on their campus. Transfer representatives want to help you be connected on campus to ensure that you achieve your goals and are aware of the opportunities available to you as a student. Many of these opportunities include scholarships, student groups, department advising opportunities, student life involvement, and many more!
3) Score Free Giveaways
Transfer representatives not only want to make sure you receive the information you need, but they also want to have you “swagged out” of your favorite transfer school. There’s never a shortage of free pens and other giveaway items.
We hope to see you at the fairs! Remember this is one of many Transfer events happening this semester with the Office of Transfer Success Initiatives.
