Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship

Each January, the Community College of Aurora honors the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and all he did to promote freedom, justice, and unity. This celebration is a time for us to come together as a community and reflect on the life and work of Dr. King toward positive social change in the United States and around the world.

In honor of Dr. King’s efforts in empowerment and community inclusion, the CCA Foundation and Office of Student Life have come together to create two $500 scholarships for CCA students who meet the following criteria.

Applicants must:

  • Volunteer or be part of an ongoing community outreach/engagement initiative
  • Be in good academic standing with the institution (GPA 2.0 or higher)
  • Be enrolled in Spring 2020 semester with a minimum of 3 credit hours
  • Fully complete application and essay
  • Note: To be eligible, you must be a current student.

If you are interested in being considered as one of the recipients of this honorable award and scholarship, complete the following application by Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

If you are selected as a scholarship and recipient, you will be notified by Friday, January 20th and officially announced at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Dedication Luncheon on Friday, January 31, 12:30 – 2 pm. Please plan on attending the celebration and extend an invitation to your family and friends.
