Orientation marks your entrance to the CCA community and will introduce you to our campus and the services we provide. CCA has three different Orientations to fit your specific needs:
New Student Orientation is required for new first-time students (students who have not attended college after high school graduation). Transfer and readmit students are encouraged to attend a New Student Orientation if they are new to CCA or returning after being away for more than one year, but they are not required to attend. NSO is intended for students, but we recognize the importance of your support system to your success. Up to two guests are welcome to attend the event with you. Students must sign up for an NSO session at least ten days prior to the session date.
Our sessions are organized by Guided Pathways. To find your Guided Pathway visit the Guided Pathways website. Students are welcome to attend an "All Pathways" Orientation if their Guided Pathway's orientation dates do not work for their schedule.
Students should review the Getting Started Checklist BEFORE they attend orientation. The following steps MUST be completed before you attend:
The following programs are currently open for registration:
Friday April 26, 2019 1:00pm-4:30pm: All Guided Pathways (CentreTech Campus)
Friday, May 3, 2019 1:00pm-4:30pm: All Guided Pathways (Lowry Campus)
Saturday, May 18, 2019 9:00am-1:30pm: All Guided Pathways (CentreTech Campus)
NSO is mandatory for all new students, however students may be eligible to complete online orientation if they:
Live more than 70 miles from the CentreTech Campus.
Students who feel they qualify for online orientation need to submit the Exemption Form. You will receive an email if your exemption is approved along with instructions for how to complete the online requirement.
Concurrent Enrollment Orientation is MANDATORY for current high school students taking Concurrent Enrollment (college classes) on CCA's campus.
Students enrolling in only ESL courses are not required to attend Orientation as your ESL courses offer Orientation as part of the first week of classes. ESL students must take the LOEP exam prior to seeing an Academic Advisor to get registered for classes and to have their orientation hold removed. Make sure to tell the Admissions staff checking you in to see an Academic Advisor that you are an ESL student.
Continuing students do not need to take Orientation. For additional information regarding Orientation, call (303) 360-4796.
Note: If you need an accommodation due to a disability, contact the Office of Disability and Equity (ODE) at 303-361-7395 V/TDD/VP or ODE@CCAurora.edu. Please allow two weeks advance notice to allow us sufficient time to make the necessary arrangements; however, the ODE will do its best to respond to last-minute requests.
