TRiO Academic Support Center
The TRiO Student Support Services program offers tutoring for current TRiO students in the following subjects and areas: Mathematics and Writing.
Our academic support center staff focus on building a relationship with each student, ask students to take learning style assessments, and work on building confidence in challenging subject matter to help students persist. Their goal is to prevent a student from having to complete a course and to build the confidence and skills necessary to complete a course successfully and move forward to the next level.

Valerie Nesbitt, Math Tutor, TRiO Academic Support Center
An Air Force brat transplant, Valerie received her Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Being the mother of five beautiful daughters (all 5 attended CCA) has taught her that there is a difference between knowing information and teaching information so it’s understandable by the person being taught. Her daughters, nieces, & nephews were a major factor in Valerie developing the teaching style she uses today. She is also an Aurora Public Schools (APS) substitute teacher, APS COMPASS Grants Site Coordinator, and honorably discharged US Air Force Captain.
