CCA’s Launchpad is a dedicated on-campus work space that is outfitted with the latest equipment to support the launch and growth of a new small business. One of the most challenging aspects of a new business start is the seemingly impossible number of start-up and overhead expenses required to get a venture off the ground. For our Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management students, we have designed a space that eliminates many of the costs associated with starting a new business. The CCA Launchpad is equipped with computer work stations for business planning, the development of marketing materials, 3D modeling software and equipment to help with product prototyping, and each computer station has Quickbooks financial management software to help students manage revenues and expenses in the first months of operation. The Launchpad also boasts a photocopier, fax machine, telephone system, and high-quality printing capabilities to help our entrepreneurs put their best foot forward in the marketplace with custom marketing materials. Our entrepreneurs can reserve the Launchpad space for client or supplier meetings and use the boardroom table, business lounge area, and virtual conferencing capabilities to establish business contacts outside of Aurora. The Launchpad will also be used for collaborative opportunities for our entrepreneurs to bounce ideas off of one another and to leverage each other’s skills and abilities to support their peer ventures. We have attempted to design a space that can be utilized as a fully functioning business office for our new businesses as they become established and gain the necessary momentum to become self-sufficient once they emerge from the incubator.
