CNN featured CCA on its July 13 broadcast of "Fareed Zakaria GPS."
The global cable giant introduced the college – and specifically its work with concurrent enrollment – to the world as the latest in a series entitled Where America Works. CNN chose hot-button topics in five cities that used collaboration and smart leadership in order to problem solve.
Sioux Falls (unemployment), Houston (immigration), New York (STEM) and Nashville (health care) also are featured as part of the series – at first with one weekly segment on the GPS show, then in a compilation that is scheduled to run Aug. 24.
The CCA piece focuses heavily on the work of former CCA President Linda Bowman and former Aurora Public Schools Superintendent John Barry and highlights the journey of CCA and Hinkley High School graduate Salamasita Fifita. CNN sent a photographer to both those locales to follow Fifita to her classes and conduct interviews.
