Community College of Aurora this past Valentine's Day hosted an Immersive and Game-Based Learning (IGBL) conference on its Lowry campus.
It just so happened that Community College Week magazine was looking for a featured story for its annual Technology in Education issue and decided to feature the IGBL trend in Colorado community colleges on the cover of its March 3 issue.
The cover features three students – Mara Whitehead, Talmage Williams and Lyndsay Dean – from the Colorado Film School, which used IGBL grants from the system office to build a 'virtual Hollywood' economy.
The story goes into depth about the Colorado Community College System's leadership in the immersive and game-based arena. CCA's work is included along with other system institutions introducing these innovative teaching tools in interesting ways.
