Aurora, Colorado – Feb. 18, 2016 – Christopher Juarez has received the Faculty of the Year Award for 2015 from the Community College of Aurora (CCA). He joined the School of Professional Studies and Sciences in August 2014 and during his short tenure at the college, has had an incredible impact on his students by ensuring he is available when they need assistance, even holding tutoring hours and test prep at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays on Saturday mornings.
Knowing how overwhelming the first day of classes can be for students, Juarez developed an interactive, multimedia syllabus tour that takes them to his office, the Library Resource Center, math lab and other areas of the college. He was one of 14 faculty members from the Colorado Community College System colleges honored during a luncheon at CCA on February 10.
Christopher Juarez received a Bachelor Science in Mathematics in 2010 and a Master of Science in Statistics in 2012 from Kansas State University. After graduating from college, he was full-time faculty member at Garden City Community college in the Math Department from 2012-2014. He teaches statistics, mathematics, algebra and trigonometry and math for liberal arts classes.
