March 1, 2018 – Aurora, CO – The Theatre Department at the Community College of Aurora (CCA) brings “Anasi and Friends,” the spring theatre production featuring folktales from West Africa, Iran, Korea, Mayan, and Native American traditions.
“I am struck by the simplicity and beauty of folktales, and the beliefs and traditions that have been passed on for centuries,” said Stacey D’Angelo, Director and Performing Arts Coordinator of the CCA Theater Department. “It allows us to escape into our imaginary world together and witness simple joy. We will all benefit from witnessing a child’s laughter during this production.”
Anansi The Spider and his friends travel around the world to hear folktales from West Africa, Iran, Korea, Mayan, and Native American traditions. The production is for all ages to enjoy. Student actors are enhancing their skills with imagery and puppetry to bring these light-hearted stories to the stage with important moral messages!
