The community is invited to hear a presentation on “Colorado Skies: Science, Stories, and Stars” during an Observatory Open House at the Community College of Aurora on Nov. 12. The 6:00 p.m. open house will include the observation of various deep sky objects through the only public observatory in Aurora, weather permitting.
The presentation will be given by Larry Sessions, a veteran space and astronomy writer based in Colorado. The talk, which is free, will take place in the college’s Fine Arts Building Forum. The presentation encapsulates a look at the stars and constellations of fall and winter in Colorado. Sessions has written for Space.com, Sky & Telescope, and Rolling Stone. He is a “Solar System Ambassador” for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and is an adjunct faculty member at CCA. The event is free and open to the public.
The event will take place in CCA’s Fine Arts Building, 16000 E. CentreTech Parkway, Aurora. For more information, visit http://www.ccaurora.edu/observatory.
