March 1, 2016 – Aurora, CO – Dressing for success means making an impression that will take you to the next level of career success. For college students, it’s a way to help them make the right wardrobe choices, whether they shop at upscale or second-hand stores.
The Career Services Department and ROAR (Women's Coaliton at CCA) at the Community College of Aurora (CCA) will present “Pack Your Bags,” a dress for success fashion show, to be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Rotunda on the CentreTech Campus, 16000 E. CentreTech Parkway, Aurora, Colorado. The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to help purchase attire for women who need help entering the workforce.
Representatives from Macy’s and Goodwill Deja Blue Boutique have donated clothing and will share advice with students about how to dress for success. “This is a very critical time for students as they transition from college to the work force,” said Barbara Lindsay, Director of Career Center. “We want to prepare our students in every way along their career journey, whether they are looking for a job now or in the future.”
Graduates from the college’s certificate and degree programs will learn how to dress for the Spring Career Expo on April 20, where they can visit with potential employers and apply for jobs. All fashion show models are CCA students, faculty or staff.
