Nov. 9, 2017 – Aurora, CO – George “Skip” Noe has been appointed Vice President of Administration/Chief Financial Officer for the Community College of Aurora. In this role, Noe will be a member of the college’s senior leadership team with responsibility for college facilities, information technology, security, and budget.
“I am so honored to work with CCA to bring my expertise and knowledge to such a wonderful institution,” said Noe. “It is my hope that the college will continue to prosper and be the college of choice for those in our community seeking an affordable, quality education.”
After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and a brief stint as a high school social studies teacher, Noe began his public service career as an Administrative Assistant in the City Council Office in San Antonio. Over the next 32 years, he would hold management positions with the cities of San Antonio, Texas; Kingsville, Texas; Fort Collins, Colorado, College Station, Texas and Corpus Christi, Texas including the City Manager’s position in Kingsville, College Station and Corpus Christi. Noe served as Aurora’s City Manager from 2010-2017, where he was responsible for overseeing the city’s $703 million budget and its 2,979 full-time employees under the city council’s direction.

During his career, Noe has been involved in a number of significant programs including budget management, economic development, performance measurement, application of information technology, development and implementation of significant capital improvements and public-private joint ventures. He was recognized at the state and national levels for the creative use of technology to improve services, the implementation of performance management systems, and application of organizational values as the basis for cultural transformation. Noe has also been involved in numerous professional organizations and groups and has received many awards for his public service.
He is married to the former Laura Spear Smith and has three grown children.
