Anderson Honored with Community Partnership Award

Denver Sheriff Deputy Sheriff K-9 Handler John Curry, Kuko, and DMI Director Pony Anderson sit for a photo during a training session on March 25.

Pony Anderson, CCA’s Disaster Management Institute (DMI) Director, will receive the Denver Sheriff Department’s Community Partnership Award for her work with the department’s K-9 narcotics team. The K-9 narcotics team trains at the DMI’s Katrina Building, which provides a realistic environment and situations for the dogs and their handlers. Anderson will receive the award during a yet-to-be-scheduled virtual ceremony.
