David Haar came to education via the business world. After receiving a double major in Business Management and Accounting at Bluffton College, Ohio in May, 1983 with a 3.5 GPA, David moved to Estes Park, Colorado and worked for a CPA firm for three years.
Teaching soon showed up on the radar and David went to Colorado State for his teaching credential. David has now been teaching marketing and business education within the Cherry Creek School District, at Overland, Cherry Creek and Eaglecrest High Schools. There have been many students who have propelled their careers while first learning about business and marketing in David’s classes. A Master’s degree in Marketing was completed at the University of Colorado- Denver in May, 1991, with an emphasis in International Marketing.
Outside of teaching, David has run his own event management company for 18 years. Tailwind Events has served many businesses with their event needs. Cisco, Qwest, ADT, Ciber, Nabisco, and FirstData are just a few.
Currently, David continues to teach with CCA and enjoys staying involved in leadership position with the various associations connected with Colorado Marketing and a high school marketing club, DECA. He has received the “Who’s Who in Education” several times throughout his career.
